Alright the site design for the website I'm currently working on is all finished. I really like the direct it's taken too. See:

This is the Home page. The picture will actually be a gallery that will scroll through some of his best shots and the Photobucket link on the surf board will link out to this full gallery.

This is the Meet Randy page. It showcases all of his awards.

Webdesign is fun and I like it lots. But I hate working on a timeline. It seems like I have to wait for inspiration to strike - which is sporadic and doesn't please my clients.

So as it turns out, I'm redesigning a website for a guy who is very into surfing. Very. he seems pretty cool though I haven't met him. His friend asked me to update the site because one of the students from the college I teach at had put the site together for free and..... well.... let's say it leaves a little something to be desired.... that's less harsh at least lol.. check out the old design -----> HERE <----- I know.... not so hot.... and not the best domain name either but hey, he surfs. He's braver than I will ever be in that sense as I am terrified of the bleedin ocean. Sharks and fish and sharks and jellyfish and did I mention sharks? Nope. I'm a pool girl. But I think I have a good eye for picking out design that will be suitable for various people from different social groups (goths, surfers, hippies, maybe even tennis players? Who knows? I can be a bridge between the peoples. Yay bridges! And peoples!

So here is what I've come up with so far:

My plan is to move the Gallery into Flash and feature it right there on the home page so that it is up front and center. I'm going to frame it with surf and ocean related stuffs and I'm going to stick to the general tattoo style and bright color theme. I'll also likely do color adjustments on all of the photos in the gallery are nice and bright. Lastly, I'll be placing all of the navigation buttons on the surf board and design them to look like some really cool surf/skater style stickers. I'm really exicted about this project! Tho surprisingly, waves are a bit tricky to draw... I'll manage!

New Beginnings - Dang it's hard to blog!

So once again, I’m going to really try to get back on the blogging band wagon. It’s proven tricky for me in the past but I think that is because I haven’t found consistent topics to write about. I’ve given this a fair amount of thought recently because my life is (once again) going through a large amount of change. However, I don’t want my blog to be about me being sad or bored or how heartbroken I am about splitting with Shaun again. I want to blog about things that I find interesting. I want the people who read it (if anyone does lol) to be interested in the topic rather than feeling like they’ve signed up for “Pity Hour with Colleen” So that is what I’m going to try really hard to do. I’m going through a cleansing period so I’ve cleared out all of the old posts. I want a new start with many things and I think that needs to include this.

I’ve taken up a new hobby of embroidery so I’m planning on putting up images of my projects and their progress. Also I’ve challenged myself to learn new techniques in my art so I also plan on putting up images of various projects that I take on. I’m currently working on a surfing website for a guy that works at the college I teach at.

Hopefully in the next week or so I will sell my couch and donate my lazy boy to DI or something and then I’ll have a new IKEA living room to offer some new perspective. Right now, I just want to focus on me in general. Not in a selfish way but in a way that will hopefully help me grow as a person. I want to be happy with me again. I want to have interesting things to say when I talk to people and I want to share interesting things with anyone who decides they want to read my blog.
